ALLIANCE AWARD

We are pleased to announce that Care & Repair Renfrewshire were part of an affiliate who won the Health & Social Care Alliance "Innovative Partnership of the Year Award."  Along with Roar – Connections for Life, Scottish Fire and Rescue, Renfrewshire HSCP and Glasgow Caledonian University.  Project ‘Feet, Falls and Fire’ is a multi-agency initiative which has developed into a full systems approach designed to identify people at risk and reduce the instances of accidents due to falls or fire hazards.

CONTRACT
Following a competitive tendering process, Bridgewater submitted a successful bid to provide Care & repair services throughout Renfrewshire and East Renfrewshire.  The contract commenced on 1 November 2012 and ended on 31 October 2015.  We are pleased to confirm that all contractual targets were exceeded.  Detailed information will be available on our documents page in due course.  Subsequently the Councils took up the option to extend the contract until 31 March 2017.  We are currently progressing well against targets and the contract has now been extended to 31 October 2017.

DEMENTIA FRIENDLY
Alzheimer Scotland visited our office and delivered a dementia awareness session.  We hope that the knowledge we gained will improve our abilities to communicate and assist our clients who have this illness.

Most types of dementia progress gradually, and with the right help and support, most people can go on living at home and enjoy a good quality of life.  This fits perfectly with the ethos of Care & Repair.

All of our staff are now proudly dementia aware.

ELECTRIC VANS
Care & Repair have taken delivery of two Nissan E-nv 200 electric vans for which we received substantial grant funding towards the three year lease from Transport Scotland.  The vehicles can be charged  through the electric vehicle charging points installed at the homes of our Small Repairs Workers, or free at the network of charging points throughout the area.  The vans can travel approximately 90 miles (dependant on driving conditions) on a full charge.  We anticipate lowering our fuel emissions, and transport, fuel and maintenance costs, subsequently reducing overheads to ensure our continued financial viability.
